Surprising Heartburn Triggers
Some heartburn triggers are obvious: chili dogs, chocolate cake, Thanksgiving. But heartburn doesn’t stop and start with food alone. If you have constant heartburn, it’s time to track down the real culprit.
Acid reflux, stomach upset, ulcers and many other maladies can be due to stress and tension. Some of us are stomach reactors. We might tense our shoulders a little, squint our forehead, grit our teeth but our real boiling tension lies down in our gut. Okay ‘butterflies’ before you have to speak in front of a group is a mild form of it. Bending over doubled up in searing pain is a very bad form of it. And letting go to the point where you are coughing of blood or passing blood in your bowel movements……… well that is dangerous.

Drinking Antacid medications everyday is dangerous
I have known people who drink liquid Antacid meds like water during the day and suck on Antacid tablets like candy. Hey now that cannot be a good thing. Oddly they drank and ate caustic food hoping that those meds would coat and soothe inspite of the what they choose to eat. They never even considered relaxation or lowering their stress level as a way to heal their churning guts.

heart burn - do not eat foods that will hurt you
I think this kind of tension starts when we are very young and just creeps up. You will find that you react to stress similarly to how your parents react. But do not loose hope, you can break the cycle.
Just 20 to 30 minutes a day deep relaxation can quickly heal without taking dangerous medications. Give it a try!
Use a Stress Thermometer to measure your stress level and to give feedback as you learn to relax. If you can heat your hands up, your stomach will not be creating and churning up all that corrsive acid.
Try the Stress Thermometer kit – see here.
