If you were depressed before ………….
Gee, all you have to do is go to the grocery store and get some gas to get depressed now days. The psychological pressure today is increasing by the day. I find it helpful to not watch the news. I only get what I need from the news when I need it. The talking heads speculate about what they see as the future and sometimes they are motivated to keep their opinion exciting so they stay on TV. I made the mistake of waking up at 3 am the other night and switching on the TV to see a report about The End of Oil. It may be a reality at some point in the future but I have no control other than what I personally use. So wretching your guts about it at 3 am will do no good for me or the situation.
Good stress mastery skills are more than just relaxation. You have recognize your reaction and take the best measures to keep yourself healthy. Pay attention to when your heart rate pumps up or your neck muscles tense or your stomach starts churning. Try to eliminate the cause as well as taming down your response.
Breathing can be a great way to start your body relaxation. Take long slow deep breaths. Exhale slowly as well.
Keep your head above water in this crisis, keep your mind and heart at peace as much as possible.
